- Read your meter !! Rates increase 4% April 1 and you need to make sure Hydro has the right starting point for the increase.
- Berkeley, Calif’s “right to know law” went into effect last Monday. This law requires retailers to post a statement about the possible consequences of wearing a cellphone on your body, the same information that is contained in manuals. The cell phone industry is still fighting. Why aren’t retailers in Canada required to show similar warnings on labels or signs? People have a right to know.
- It seems that anything that is wireless can be hacked, and cars are as vulnerable as $$meters. The “internet of things” is becoming both invasive and dangerous.
“Just last week, Nissan was forced to suspend its NissanConnect EV smartphone app when hackers showed how they remotely access a Nissan Leaf and could take control of the vehicle.
The amount of information up for grabs, combined with the possibility that someone could take control of your car, is cause for worry.
Simple hacks that use the signals transmitted by your key fob let thieves access your car and steal it while you’re away. The more connected our cars become, the more we all need to pay attention to what automakers are doing to keep our cars secure.”
- Industry sources are warning about increased indications of a major cyberattack on the infrastructure.
“A round up of the various predictions for 2016 seem to indicate an increased likelihood of a major attack on critical infrastructure, with Symantec, Fire Eye, Sophos, Business Insider and Impervia among others predicting increased attacks on Internet of Things devices and critical infrastructure….
At the end of the day, what is obvious is that utilities and critical infrastructure providers need to pay more attention to just how resilient they are to these types of attacks.”

Subject: Fwd: Wi-Fried! Teachers and Students at Risk: EHS (Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity disorder) – numbers are growing!
Cc: “Jinny Sims, MP Newton-North Delta” <Jinny.Sims.C1C@parl.gc.ca>
Elizabeth May, MP Southern Gulf Islands
Dear Elizabeth May:
I am a former Delta teacher. Today I am submitting to you a letter I wrote to the BCTF in the fall of 2014. I need your help to circulate and promote this important health message. The letter is actually an article I had submitted to the BCTF editors of Teacher Magazine two years ago which they have not yet published, most likely due to the controversy it might stir.
Since I was recently left with no alternative but to retire from my school district in Delta, I am now free to release this information to the public…so I will be contacting the media to publish the article instead.
Several teachers in different BC locals as well as from other provinces are collaborating right now to contact our new Health Minister with information on WiFi health effects in an effort to stop the insanity! WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The situation is out of control in our public schools right now, with the layering of multiple sources of radiation exposure from WiFi routers and boosters, laptops, iPads, and the hundreds (sometimes thousands) of strong iPhones actively in use daily in every public school.
In light of recent developments in the east, with 2 Ontario unions requesting that WiFi be removed from their schools due to teachers who are developing EHS symptoms (which forced my early retirement here in BC), and the subsequent lift of the media blackout here in the west (the Vancouver Sun and The Province covered the Ontario story after years of ignoring WiFI issues and Resolutions against its use here within the BCTF), it seems a fitting time to release my article to the media outlining my recent lengthy battle with the schoolboard regarding strong WiFi systems in our district.
My rapidly developing EHS symptoms and strong reactions to radiowave frequency radiation forced me out of my townhome and into Early Retirement on March 1st this year. I have been robbed of my rights and freedoms, unable to participate in an active, robust lifestyle, hike or jog in public parks, use transit, walk my dog on public sidewalks to run errands – all due to increased sensitivity to powerful EMF from powerlines, residential mobile phone use, home WiFi upgrades and boosters surging through neighbourhoods, and Smart Meter RF at street level. This is a Human Right to “clean air” that has been stolen from us.
Due to sensitive skin, allergies and MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities), I am part of that growing group that is predisposed to become EHS. Symptoms began to emerge and develop only after lengthy and prolonged exposure to strong RF’s emitted by WiFi signals and routers in my classrooms and hallways. (I have no RF in my own home, having never subscribed to home WiFi, mobile phone service, or Smart Meters).
I am not suffering alone – my experience is not unlike that of thousands of other teachers and students in public schools throughout BC and Canada.
Please help us to circulate this information in order to effect change in federal policy on WiFi use in public spaces and places such as schools, parks, public transit including ferries, and buildings which are toxic to the increasing number of Canadians becoming EHS.
I thank you for your compassion and support.
