A report was obtained from the BC Safety Authority regarding a fire in Sparwood BC in August 2012, after none was available from the Fire Commissioner..
The report says that the fire started in the meter base about 4 hours AFTER the Smart Meter was installed.
The meter was taken before the fire inspector could determine the actual cause of the fire, whether it was due to a poor installation or to design flaws.
